Our mission as a church is to bring transformation to individuals and our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Summer of Serve is a season-long service project with a goal of advancing our mission in the community. The Summer of Serve begins the first Saturday in June and will last 13 weeks, with different service projects happening on most Saturdays throughout the summer.
The current project schedule is:
June 6 - Clean up overgrown yards. Power wash prep work for future projects. June 13 - 3 painting projects and additional yard projects. June 20 - Day off June 27 - Porch construction project and raised bed construction and flower planting. July 4 - Day off. Happy 4th of July!
July 11 - Day off for church volunteer training from 10AM to 1PM. All are welcome!
July 18 - Widening a handicap ramp for a local family. Cleaning up overgrown yards. July 25 - TBA August 1 - TBA August 8 - Day off August 15 - TBA August 22 - Day off August 29 - Final projects completed. Celebrate another year of progress and transformation!
Most events will run from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., though some may end sooner. Please meet at the church for the start of each project.
If you feel called to help with Summer of Serve, you can sign up or find out more by filling out our contact form. However, if you are not able to help physically, we have other jobs you can do. We have a group that is beginning to help with lunches throughout the day to bless those we are serving and we also have a prayer station that meets along the trail monthly to simply show love to our friends and neighbors. We hope these projects will share God's love throughout our community and inspire our community to come together in service to each other for God's glory. Have a blessed summer!
